What do tree stump services do?
Tree stump services are specialists in tree stump removal. We grind out the stumps using the most up to date machines that grind the stump into chippings. This method is the most eff dent method of destroying the stump, leaving the area ready for the next stage of garden design, replanting, fencing or building works.
What happens to the chippings that are left?
Our stump grinder turns the stump into chippings that are mixed up with the soil. This mulch is left in the tree stump hole for our customer to utilise. It can also be used as a mulch and weed inhibitor elsewhere. The ground can then be replanted immediately or turfed. The resulting mulch can be removed from site although utilising the mulch in your own garden is more cost effective.
How soon can you come to remove my stump?
We try to be as flexible as possible. Work will usually be booked to be done within two weeks depending on the time of year. If you have a small stump then tree stump services may ask you to wait a little longer until another job is being done in your area, this reduces the costs for everyone.
Will the tree re-grow?
Usually stumps will not re-grow There are one or two exceptions, e.g. wi low, that may send up the odd shoot from a piece of root, but even these can easily be managed with advice from tree stump services.
What if the stump is right up against a wall?
The versatile machinery that tree stump services use is ideal for inching right up to a wall, patio or other object that you do not want to have damaged in any way.
How much mess will be left?
Tree stump services leave the area tidy after the operation is complete.
I use screens guards to prevent the chippings going where they are not wanted.
What are the benefits of stump removal?
- Reclaimed garden/land
- Land available for replanting
- Minimal disturbance to the rest of your garden
- Whole stump is turned to mulch
- No lumps or root ball to dispose of
- Most efficient form of stump remove
- Avoids use of chemicals to kill the stump
How much does stump grinding cost?
There are 4 major factors that can affect stump grinding cost.
1. Height - if the stump is more than 12 inches tall, this may Increase price.
2. Diameter - This is the measurement from one side of
the stump to the other at ground level.
3. Root system/surface roots - Some stumps go straight into the ground while others tend to swell/flare outwards at the bottom, then branch out into many
surface roots going in different directions.
4. Accessibility and ground condition- Will i need to squeeze through a small gate or go through the house to get machine to the stump?
Are there lots of rocks around stump?
For an exact quote, it is best for us to come look at stumps in person.
For a "ball park" price, feel free to send us photos of your stumps. Before taking photo, place a object such as a water bottle on top of or next to stump, and stand back 10-15 feet. This will help me scale the size of the stump, and get a better idea of work area.
